Spotlight on Belize at ITB Berlin 2019
BHA President Ted Tejada and our BHA European Representative Sander Langeveld, were at the ITB Berlin Show in Germany representing our membership from March 5- 10, 2019. During these five days, the Belize Hotel Association representatives met with several agents, wholesalers, Media representatives and service providers that showed much interest in promoting and selling Belize to their clients.
Several other Tourism stakeholders from Belize, were also present, promoting our beautiful country at this spectacular event, under the Belize Pavilion organized by the Belize Tourism Board. Many of these representatives expressed great satisfaction with the show and particularly with the BTB initiative that allowed them to attend such a high caliber tradeshow at an affordable cost.
FVW Medien stated ” In 2018, the destination has achieved a growth in terms of visitors of 24% versus the previous year and of 132% in the last five years from the German Market. Congratulations on this outstanding performance in the name of FVW Medien”

Other highlights of the show included over 150 educational sessions which featured close to 300 renowned presenters that discussed several important topics including over tourism, digitalization and the evolution of travel.
With more than 50 years in existence, the ITB Berlin is the leading trade fair for the global travel industry, and the leading business platform for global tourism. Showcasing 6 continents, representing over 180 countries with 10,000 exhibitors, 1,000 top buyers and more than 10,000 trade visitors, the figures alone prove that supply and demand meet at the right place at ITB Berlin.
