Chicago Travel and Adventure 2019
The Annual Chicago Travel & Adventure Show was held on January 12 and 13, 2019 at the Donald E. Stephens Convention Centre. Past-President Leisa Carr-Caceres and Director Barry Snowden represented the Belize Hotel Association at this event, which was a huge success.
The two-day show was filled with travel trade visitors, press and media as well as the public
who were looking for advice, to plan their upcoming vacation. The Belize Hotel Association booth was visited by many travelers who knew about Belize already and were eager to visit, therefore they wanted to learn more. In addition, several press and travel agents stopped by to find out information about the country and our attractions. The BHA received a substantial number of leads at the show which will be sent to our members shortly.
This was the 15th year of the Travel and Adventure Show series, which is one of the largest shows in the USA and whose main focus is on leisure and experiential travel. These shows have connected over 1.75 million travel enthusiasts with over 4,000 unique travel marketers in a professional setting that facilitates face-to-face conversations and has impacted over $3.2 billion in travel bookings.
Each year, America’s most avid travelers flock to their favorite travel show to find, plan and book their dream vacation. 93% of travel show attendees stated that their #1 reason for attending the event was to meet with the experts from each travel destination and 78% have booked a vacation through a destination specialist or supplier they met at the show
Famous speakers at the show include Rick Steves, Samantha Brown, Pauline Frommer and more, who have plenty of advice to give on seeing the world in the best way possible. A variety of cultural performances and hands-on activities, including camel rides, SCUBA lessons, Culinary Arts, Cultural Dance Stage and many door prizes and raffles are also attractions that make the show a “must see” for thousands of attendees.
