Established in 1963, the DFC is Belize's only Development Finance Institution (DFI). Focused on sustainability instead of profit maximization, the DFC provides Belizean nationals, residents, companies and organizations with micro, small, medium and large business loans in the following sectors: Tourism, Professional Services, Manufacturing, Real Estate, Agriculture, Livestock, Commercial Fishing, Aquaculture, Agro-Processing, Transportation, Infrastructure Development, among others. Over 65% of DFC's portfolio is invested in Productive Sector financing. DFC also provides 100% financing for Sustainable Energy Loans; Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy (EE/RE) Loans for Businesses and Homes, 100% Residential Mortgage Financing, Education Loans (Vocational, Tertiary and Higher Education) and Gender Inclusive Loans for women, young adults and vulnerable groups. *Non-Nationals can also access financing from the DFC for Productive Sector projects and EE/RE Investments. *Some conditions apply.
