BHA MEMBERSHIP BENEFITS 2011/2012

Participation in Global Marketing Initiative: 
With the change in the due structure paid membership guarantees participation in our cooperative global marketing initiative which is targeting 20 plus shows throughout the world. Main show collateral takes the form of the 2011/2012 Belize Hotel Guide which will feature a half page ad for each member. Guide is concise and printed in various languages based on the demographics of each country BHA visits.

BHA Website Presence: 
Once a paid member of BHA your hotel/ business information will be uploaded on the BHA’s website: www.belizehotels.org. A new more innovative website is in the works based on state of the art CMS platform for easy management, change and updates. Main areas of the new website will includes a welcome area, member listing, member page, link to property booking engine, industry news, calendar of events, public and member library.

Human Resources & Training Resource Center
Members can take advantage of BHA Training Resource Center at the main office which includes videos and printed material on how to improve your hospitality business. BHA is also planning a number of training secessions this year for its member hotels.

Industry Alerts
BHA disseminates industry information, news and opportunities for our member hotels on a regular basis.

National Quality and Sustainability Plus Program
Partnership will allow the Belize Tourism Board and the Belize Hotel Association to be able to certify the quality and sustainability of our hotels, tour guides and operators, using the standards and principles set by the Global Sustainable Tourism Council (GSTC)”.

Special Projects:
BHA organizes a number of projects yearly

• Lobster Project – Allow Hotels and Restaurant access to Lobster in the offseason
• Post Card Project – Allows for bulk printing of postcards for a reduced rate
• BHA Solar Water Heater – Project with a goal of implementing energy saving water heating technology to our member hotels.

General Functions of the Belize Hotel Association includes:

1. Establish partnerships and links with the Government Ministries and non-government agencies and association
2. Safeguard the interest off the hotel industry through proactive and reactive lobbying with the Government of Belize for the accommodation sector
3. Seeks to unite those involved in the hotel industry to address concerns regarding the industry and to promote a general understanding of the industry through affordable workshop and training.
4. Facilitate the development of the hotel industry through marketing and advertising campaigns
5. Promote policies and practices which facilitate the growth and long term development of the accommodation industry

Allied Member Bands
